Guidance by treatment type
These are general guidelines. Your nurse gives you instructions specific to the treatment you had, and those instructions take precedence over anything on this page. If you are unsure at any point, call the clinic.
Muscle Relaxation Treatments
- Stay upright for four hours and avoid lying down or bending forward
- Avoid massaging, rubbing or applying pressure to the treated area
- Skip strenuous exercise, saunas and hot showers for 24 to 48 hours
- Expect any small marks at injection points to settle within hours
- Contact the clinic if you notice vision changes, drooping or severe headache
Volume Enhancement Treatments
- Keep the area clean and avoid pressure or facial massage for 24 hours
- Swelling and tenderness in the first days is common and settles
- Avoid alcohol for 24 hours and extreme heat for 48 hours
- Sleep slightly elevated on the first night if you can
- Contact the clinic immediately for severe pain or unusual discolouration
Skin Needling / Microneedling
- Leave the skin alone for the first several hours — no makeup, no active products
- Cleanse gently with lukewarm water and a fragrance-free cleanser
- Expect redness and a warm, tight feeling for 24 to 48 hours
- Use only the moisturiser and SPF 50+ recommended for you
- Pause retinoids, acids and vitamin C until your nurse says otherwise
Chemical Peels
- Do not pick or pull at flaking skin — let it shed on its own
- Cleanse gently and moisturise more often than usual
- Avoid exfoliation, scrubs and active ingredients until healed
- Daily SPF 50+ is essential, with hats and shade in Brisbane sun
- Avoid swimming pools, saunas and heavy sweating for 48 hours
LED Light Therapy
- You can usually return to normal activity straight away
- Apply your recommended moisturiser and SPF 50+ afterwards
- Skip hot showers and vigorous exercise for a few hours if your skin feels warm
- Keep hydration up to support recovery
- Tell your nurse if your skin feels unusually sensitive afterwards
Important: All cosmetic treatments are performed by qualified practitioners following Australian health regulations. Individual results may vary. A consultation is required prior to any treatment to assess suitability and discuss realistic expectations. Any surgical or invasive procedure carries risks. Before proceeding, you should seek a second opinion from an appropriately qualified health practitioner.
