General questions
What is Aesthetics By Boss?
Aesthetics By Boss is a boutique cosmetic clinic at Shop 6/68 Racecourse Road, Hamilton, in Brisbane. It provides personalised aesthetic care informed by contemporary research and clinical standards, with individualised care plans and client safety prioritised at every step.
Who performs the treatments?
Treatments are performed by Shae Petersen, a qualified Cosmetic Nurse who holds a Bachelor of Nursing and a Graduate Diploma in Cosmetic Nursing from the Australasian Academy of Cosmetic Dermal Science. Shae works alongside Dr Ronelle De Wet, medical practitioner.
Where is the clinic located?
Shop 6/68 Racecourse Road, Hamilton, QLD 4007. The clinic is minutes from Ascot, Albion, Hendra and Clayfield, roughly ten minutes from Newstead and Fortitude Valley, and about fifteen from Brisbane City.
What are your opening hours?
Tuesday to Thursday 10am to 7pm, Friday 10am to 4pm, and Saturday 10am to 1pm. The clinic is closed Sundays and Mondays. If you need a time outside those hours, ask when you book and we will tell you what is possible.
Do I need a referral to book an appointment?
No referral is needed. You can book a consultation directly online, by phone on 0406 759 228, or by email. If you are already under the care of another practitioner, bring that context to your consultation.
Consultations and Bookings questions
What happens during a consultation?
Four stages: a discussion of your goals, concerns and medical history; an assessment of facial structure, skin condition, symmetry and proportion; a treatment plan built from that assessment; then an explanation of each option including its risks, benefits and alternatives.
How do I book an appointment?
Book online through the booking page, which shows current availability, or contact the clinic directly on 0406 759 228 or shae@aestheticsbyboss.com.au if you would rather talk it through first.
What is your cancellation policy?
Let the clinic know as early as you can if your plans change, so the time can be offered to someone else. Specific notice requirements are confirmed with you when your appointment is made.
How should I prepare for my appointment?
Come with a list of your current skincare products, any medications or medical conditions, and the questions you want answered. Avoid alcohol beforehand, and arrive without makeup if the appointment involves a skin assessment.
Can I have treatment on my first visit?
Sometimes, but not always. A consultation is required first, and some plans need time between assessment and treatment so you can consider the information given to you. Your nurse will tell you which applies to you.
Treatments and Services questions
What services do you offer?
Six consultations — facial aesthetic, facial volume, facial contouring, skin health and rejuvenation, skin health support, and excessive sweating management — and six treatments, including exfoliation, microneedling, light-based therapy, jaw muscle relaxation, and skin care and wellness programs.
Are the treatments painful?
Comfort varies by treatment and by person. Most clients describe skin treatments as tolerable rather than painful, and your nurse will explain what sensation to expect, and what can be done to make you more comfortable, before you begin.
How long do treatments take?
A facial aesthetic consultation takes 45 to 60 minutes. Treatment appointment lengths depend on the plan agreed at your consultation, and the time needed is confirmed when the appointment is booked.
How long do results last?
That depends on the treatment, your skin and your habits — particularly sun protection. Realistic expectations and likely timelines are discussed during your consultation rather than promised in advance.
What are the risks and side effects?
Every treatment carries potential risks, which are explained in full before you consent. Common temporary effects include redness, swelling or sensitivity. The aftercare guide lists the signs that mean you should contact the clinic immediately.
Can I return to normal activities after treatment?
Usually yes, with some limits. General guidance is to stay upright for four hours, avoid strenuous exercise, saunas and hot showers for 24 to 48 hours, and skip makeup on treated areas for at least four hours.
Safety and Qualifications questions
Are your practitioners qualified?
Yes. Treatments are performed by a qualified Cosmetic Nurse working alongside a Medical practitioner, in line with current ethical, regulatory and professional standards for cosmetic practice in Australia.
What products do you use?
Product and device selection is made for your skin at consultation rather than applied uniformly. Your nurse will name what is being used, explain why it suits your skin, and tell you what to use at home.
Is there anyone who should not have cosmetic treatments?
Yes. Certain medical conditions, medications, pregnancy or breastfeeding, and recent procedures can all be contraindications. Identifying them is a core part of the consultation, and a treatment will not proceed if it is not appropriate for you.
What happens if I am not satisfied with my results?
Contact the clinic and book a review. Concerns are assessed in person so what has happened can be understood properly, and the next step discussed with you honestly.
Pricing and Payment questions
How much do treatments cost?
Cost depends on the plan discussed at your consultation. It is confirmed with you before anything goes ahead, so you always know the figure before agreeing to treatment. Contact the clinic for an indication before booking.
Do you offer payment plans?
Ask at your consultation — available payment options are confirmed with you directly rather than published, since they change over time.
Is there a consultation fee?
Consultation fees are confirmed when you book, so there are no surprises on the day. If a fee applies, the clinic will tell you before your appointment is finalised.
Do you accept health insurance?
Cosmetic treatments are generally not claimable through private health insurance or Medicare. If your circumstances may be different, raise it at your consultation and it can be discussed.
Aftercare questions
What aftercare is required?
It depends on the treatment, and specific instructions are given to you at the clinic. General guidance covers avoiding pressure on the treated area, staying upright for four hours, no strenuous exercise for 24 to 48 hours, no alcohol for 24 hours, and daily SPF 50+.
How do I contact you if I have concerns after treatment?
Call 0406 759 228. Contact the clinic immediately for severe pain, unusual discolouration, vision changes or headaches after facial treatment, signs of infection, difficulty breathing or swallowing, or fever.
Do you offer follow-up appointments?
Yes — follow-up and review appointments can be booked online or by contacting the clinic, and are encouraged whenever you want your response to treatment assessed.

Important: All cosmetic treatments are performed by qualified practitioners following Australian health regulations. Individual results may vary. A consultation is required prior to any treatment to assess suitability and discuss realistic expectations. Any surgical or invasive procedure carries risks.
